Returning for it’s second installment, ESA Winter is once again taking place in the comfortable surroundings of the Quality Hotel Royal Corner, Växjö.

When
ESA Winter 2019 will be open to all attendees from Saturday 16 Feb to Sunday 24 Feb
The marathon stream will run from early in the week, likely Monday 18 Feb, to late evening Saturday 23 Feb
During the allocated setup days, attendees are welcome to attend, hang out, and help set up the event. Full gaming facilities will not be available. These days are 15, 16 Feb and 24 Feb.
The marathon will be streamed, as usual, on our twitch tv channel twitch.tv/esamarathon
Game Submissions
The game selection crew is lead by Fatzke, assisted by IrregularJinny and eTholon.

The primary submission period will be between Saturday 20 Oct and Sunday 4 Nov
There will be an additional submission period between first and final cuts for games that were not released during the primary submission period. Any submissions during this period will be held to an equal, if not higher standard, to those being submitted in the first round
Streams
The main stream will be at twitch.tv/esamarathon
We are considering the option of a dedicated RPG stream with 1-2 runs per day. Please consider and make submissions with this in mind.
Accommodation
ESA Winter is within the Royal Corner hotel and we suggest saying here for as long as possible. Unfortunately, the hotel is fully (as in totally, absolutely) booked on the Friday and Saturday night of the event. We suggest you book Royal Corner from arrival day to Thursday and make alternative arrangements for the full final weekend.
The following codes are available for Royal Corner to book online via their website
ESAW for the standard event rate, a refundable price available all the way up to the event.
ESAW10 for the standard event rate minus a further 10% for paying up front, non refundable.
These room rates all include daily housekeeping, a breakfast buffet and access to the gym, pool and sauna area.
Room availability over the final weekend is now limited at Royal Corner and booking of the remaining rooms not available online is by email only - q.royalcorner@choice.se - make sure to ask for the rooms reserved for ESA
For Friday and Saturday night, we can only suggest you look at alternative options. You can make a reservation via booking.com, hotels.com, or email the tourist board at turism@vaxjo-co.se who might be able to provide a choice of Bed and Breakfast accomodation.
Travel
Travel to Växjö is straightforward!
Flying direct to VXO
KLM flies most days to Amsterdam, with onward connections to the rest of the world.
BRA fly domestically to 6 Swedish airports, along with Berlin Tegel
Finnair codeshare with BRA to provide onward connections from Bromma. Book these options via the Finnair website
Flying to Copenhagen
Växjö is 2.5h by train from Copenhagen, with a connection every hour. We recommend this route for most people, as Copenhagen airport has a high number of low-cost routes. Onward travel may be booked in advance via SJ
Trains
Växjö lies just off the main line between Malmö and Stockholm, on the line to Kalmar. Regular connections are available to all major cities through SJ
Car
Free surface parking is available, with an underground car park at additional cost.
Event Registration
Event Registration is open now through our storefront
The early bird registration fee (available up to 1 month before the event) is 550SEK. The early-bird ticket is not refundable.
It is possible to purchase an early bird ticket with a shirt for an extra 130SEK or a stand-alone shirt for 150SEK
Alternatively, full price, refundable tickets are 700SEK and available up until event day.
In the event the initial allocation of 100 tickets sells out, we will set aside a further release of tickets guaranteed for runners.
Payment is available by Credit Card, PayPal, Sofort and iDeal. Your receipt (“thank you for your order”) is your ticket.
Please contact us if you are under 16 or plan to bring someone under 16. All under-16s attending ESA must come with a guardian and can not take part in the streamed part of the marathon.
